2022 has been a year that seen some wonderful highs in the local culinary industry. It’s no secret that South Africa has some of the best eateries in the world, with tourists and locals alike flocking to these bucket-list restaurant. This year was a good one for the industry with a successful Restaurant Week SA, the return of the Eat Out awards and now, La Colombe won yet another global award showcasing culinary excellence.
Self-described as one of Cape Town’s most well-loved restaurants, the contemporary French meets Asian dining experience is one for the books. Recently, La Colombe was one of the restaurants awarded three stars at the 2022 Eat Out Awards, along with PIER at the Waterside and a few others.
Fresh off that prestigious win, the restaurant has now bagged Africa’s Best Restaurant at the World Culinary Awards for a second year in a row.
According to the official site, the World Culinary Awards ‘aims to celebrate and reward excellence in the culinary industry through our annual awards programme. World Culinary Awards is the sister event of World Travel Awards, itself inaugurated in 1994.’
