This week, the planets entered the season of Cancer (read on because this is relevant, promise), a sign that is ruled by the moon, which is for some a connection to their creativity and intuition. It’s a time of deep introspection and sensitivity - it makes sense that the prolific artist and muse Frida Kahlo belongs to this sign. One need not be into astrology to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us however, the digital realm provides an abyss of inspiration, which, even subconsciously energizes our own creativity. Sculptural furniture
I'm currently obsessed with Caleb Woodard's sculptural furniture (@calebwoodardfurniture). The things he can sculpt from wood are simply unbelievable, but utterly gorgeous. I particularly like the 6-foot tall Maelstrom cabinet he sculpted for Kelly Wearstler.
Indigenous design
I have become interested in archival work over the years, and because of this I follow several pages with digital archives. The Kraal is one of these pages on Instagram, it’s a rich platform that displays historic creativity in Africa and the diaspora. This particular post is about hair mathematics and traditional architecture.
