It’s about that time again, when leading paint brands choose their upcoming colour of the year. It’s an important event, as it takes into consideration, trends and what the consumer might be aligned with as the new year starts. Arguably, the most famous one is the highly anticipated Pantone selection (and we’re waiting patiently too!). The colour of the year impacts trends, what interior designers might choose for future projects and what eager clients might want for their home renovations or DIY projects.
The timing for the new colours starts around end September right to the end of the year. However, we’re taking a look at the colour choices as they’re announced and recently, Dulux launched theirs.
If you’ve seen a Dulux ad, you can probably recall the Old English sheepdogs that made a standard appearance in their ads. A family friendly favourite, the colour choice seems to have the home and family at heart. For 2023, the Colour of the Year is called Wild Wonder. According to the official site and Instagram page, Wild Wonder is described as ‘a glowing, natural tone that helps us connect with nature and brings a positive feel into our homes’.
The neutral tone was chosen after taking time to do global research and getting insight on the trends ahead. Wild Wonder is a shade that aims to have nature at the heart of it, with the colour being paired well with other Dulux paint shades.
