In case you were not aware, media mogul Oprah Winfrey is also the Queen of all things home, garden and luxe lifestyle.
She recently gave us a peek into the vast garden of her Montecito home in California where she shows us her purple cosmos, dahlias, marigolds, veronica plants, poppies daisies and hydrangeas in full bloom. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the California Channel Islands the garden also features an unmatched rose garden, a variety of trees, an outdoor dining area and a cast-iron fountain.
In 2019 Oprah expanded her Promised Land ranch with an added 70 acres by purchasing a neighbouring Spanish Revival–style compound that belonged to actor Jeff Bridges for $6,85 million (R102 M). The compound features a main house, a guesthouse, a pool house, a carriage house, and a gated equestrian facility with stables and a tack room.
In the video captioned “Take a tour of Lady O’s epic field of flowers”, Oprah shares a few gardening tips and her secret to gifting flowers.
“Don’t send flowers by how much money you spend, send flowers by how many flowers in a bunch. For example, I always say add hydrangea or send a basket of hydrangea and whatever else you can afford, like a basket of hydrangea and roses, hydrangea and lilies or hydrangea and daisies. Hydrangea is really good, it’s a great flower to send.”, says Oprah.
Oprah’s real estate portfolio also includes a 43-acre Orcas Island compound that she bought in 2018, a ski chalet in Telluride, Colorado that she bought in 2015 and a 163-acre ranch on Hawaii’s Maui island where she has a flourishing fruit and vegetable garden.
