Rose alchemist Anja Taschner, Marie Favard and Ive Schiele will be guiding garden enthusiasts through a magical summer tour of the most exquisite gardens around the Cape this month.
The 3-day event will consist of tours of the most beautiful gardens in the province and invaluable insight from industry experts with the deepest appreciation and passion for the world-class rose gardens in and around the Cape.
The tour will kick off on November 1st 2018 and be completed on November 3rd. During the 3 days of enjoying the romantic garden life, you will be given the opportunity to explore private and public rose gardens and tuck into gourmet lunches at some of the best restaurants.
The tour offers a taste of Stellenbosch Rose Gardens, Lunch at Lanzerac and tea with Roxanne Barlow at Rustenburg. Participants will be treated to an early morning stop at Quoin Rock whose new owner, Ukrainian businessman Vitaly Gayduk, has flanked the long driveway with mass plantings of roses including My Granny, Granny's Delight, Perfumed Breeze and Rosa Bracteata McCartney.
The rose garden tour will also feature the private garden of Coreen Krige which is located on a family estate in Jonkershoek. Coreen and Niel Krige created a country garden in a hidden valley where the rose gardens are arranged by colour situated against the backdrop of majestic mountains.
A trip to the renowned Babylonstoren farm is also part of the schedule. The farm has many a time been described as a wonderland of indigenous plants, sprawling gardens and fragrant lawns. You will have an opportunity to admire their incredible pergolas and visit the exclusively quaint picking rose garden.
