1. Prep work reigns supreme

A paint job is only 40% of the task, while the prep work makes up the bulk of it, so preparing your walls couldn’t be a more vital stage of painting. The taping of those edges, cleaning the walls beforehand as well as filling in any damages and holes all play a role in preparing your walls before adding that fresh coat of paint. It’s important to note that the prime coat should always be applied a few hours beforehand, since that’s what helps your colour pop, so don’t forget it.

2. Custom vs. standard

As with anything, custom-made items are always more expensive than ready-made ones. The same it seems would apply to paint. One of the quickest yet most inexpensive ways to paint your home would be the purchase of over-the-counter paint. This means the colour is already mixed so no time is wasted on custom tints. To add to this, your colour would always be consistent since it’s been pre-mixed by the factory. Sounds like a time-saver and a reliable solution to get the job done efficiently.

3. Watching paint dry

The quickest way to get your paint dry is to make sure that you’re painting on a warmer, less humid day. The humidity delays the paint from drying, so if you need to paint multiple coats (which is most likely the case), a damp day will only delay the process. Don’t forget that having great ventilation is key, especially with the toxic fumes released, so be sure to open up all those windows and doors to let the fresh air flow freely.
